Major "Star Wars" rumors circulated this past week regarding Simon Pegg's involvement in the franchise and the potential of director Alfonso Cuaron signing on for "Episode 8." However, Pegg shut down the first rumor when the actor took to Twitter to establish that he will not be working on "Star Wars."

"No idea where this silly rumour about me attached to the new Star Wars film came from but I can confirm that it's absolute Bantha poodoo (not true)," tweeted Pegg.

Pegg is currently a part of the "Star Trek" series, which is directed by "Episode 7" helmer J.J. Abrams. Pegg has claimed to be a fan of both franchises and was made the subject of casting rumors in past days due to this link.

The rumors started when Market Saw published an article claiming that the actor would be "involved in some capacity" with the upcoming "Star Wars" movie. That same article also stated that Cuaron could be brought on to direct the sequel to Abrams' film.

Aside from these two major rumors, the article also asserts that the new trilogy will focus on dual personalities. "I believe duel personalities develop, akin to Anakin and Obi Wan, and Luke and Vader in the first trilogies, which as far as I am aware, is the driving force behind the new trilogy. Things may change however, but I doubt it, this has been long in the making," writes Marketing Saw.

The publication goes on to state that Harrison Ford has not committed yet and is in negotiations.

"Harrison Ford has been approached, he has not turned it down, and is from everything I hear, very interested in returning to the role of Han Solo again, but is not signed as was reported recently. Negotiating may be a better choice of words right now. Hope it shakes out."

With regards to Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher (the stars from the original trilogy), the publication rumors that the two thespians were approached a long time and "will be in Episode 7."

Nothing has been confirmed, but Hamill and Fisher have been approached about returning according to prior reports. "Star Wars Episode 7" is being written by Michael Arndt and is slated for a tentative 2015 release date.
