With February ending, Pokémon fans will be another month closer to October for the new sixth generation Pokémon games.

Six new Pokémon have been confirmed for "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" and discussion and speculation have been hot. A main reason for debate is for one of the new Pokémon - the new Eevee evolution.

Sylveon has been confirmed to be the eighth Eevee evolution and will make its game debut in "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y." What is not confirmed about Sylveon, however, is its type.

Latinos Post previously disclosed an unscientific poll, which asked readers on what type they think Sylveon is. Flying won the poll with a comfortable margin, but again, nothing is confirmed until The Pokémon Company International and/or Nintendo give the "okay."

The Latinos Post poll had the options of Fighting, Flying, Ghost, Normal, the rumored new type Light, a combination of either options above, or none of the above. Published on Feb. 18, with 740 votes, 39.32 percent believe Sylveon will be a Flying type. In second, the rumored Light received 23.51 percent as Normal rounded up the top three with 14.86 percent.

The other results went as followed: none of the above with 8.38 percent, Ghost with 6.62 percent, Fighting: 3.92 percent, combination of either option above with 3.38 percent.

Latinos Post also broke down the Sylveon name to see if it could lead to its type. The likely answer again is Flying followed by Bug.

Latinos Post readers have taken to the comments section to further debate on the type, and here is what they wrote (as is):

RedFoxx: There's a lot of rumors saying that it could be a new type: Light. While it does appear to have sparkles around it, I doubt Game Freak would make a new type this late into the series. Think about it, there could probably be 20 out of 700+ Pokémon who could have that type. Seems very unlikely. And people also said that Reshiram would be a Light type... Personally, I think that it could, COULD, be a Poison type. Think about it: NINfia, NIN, NINja. Ninjas typically use Poison types. And those sparkles could be a Poisonpowder-like substance...My theory.

YoungsterJoey: "If its a "ninja" the perhaps a fighting type? Even though Ninfia looks to "light" or "bright"...perhaps "shiny" to be a fighting type."

Ninjamonkey7272: "Could be ghost or just a normal type but can use tons of moves like clefairy."

Ninjamonkey7272:: "This is the best eevee evolution for 1 reason and 1 reason only, bowties are cool."

VickyOhh: "I gave a lot of thought to this and usually Eevee Evolution's colors are link to there types' color. So flying type is kinda sky blue so that is cross out. Ghost and Poison are purple-ish so I will cross that out. My guess is that is either Normal or the new "Light type."

Roman; "Guys light-type is so fake. That sounds pretty much like electric an fire type... What idiot came up with that... I seriously think its Dragon, Flying, Normal, or possibly Ghost-type."

Elsya: "It can't be a normal type! Eevee's already a normal type. Why would you want to evolve your eevee into a normal type?
Anyway, the new eeveelution looks awful. Like Audino and Milotic had some creepy down syndrome baby thing! I would think it would be psychic from it's looks, but that's Espeon. Maybe it is normal. Which is a horrible idea.
I hope it's flying or ghost."

Milotic4Ever: "All the moves shown in the trailer could be moves learned by all Eeveelutions through various means. Swift can be taught by an Eevee through tutoring in certain games, i.e, HG, SS, Pt,....etc. I think Sylveon is flying."

YoungsterJoey: "It could evolve to a normal type. Eevee is simply a base and it doesnt have a Normal evolution yet. I think its only fair."

Jason: "I think its flying type. in the circle of evee-loutions its across from jolteon meaning its either strong against or weak to electric moves and it doesn't look like a ground type. plus gyrados is part flying according to bulbapedia and it has no wings to support its self."

Jacksendorf: "A 'sylph' is a wind spirit. This is probably the root word to Sylveon. Based on that alone, I believe Sylveon will be a flying type. Also, I think the "ribbons" on its "bows" could possibly be its 'wings.'"

Ryan Horlock: "I think it's Bug, as the Japanese name is 'Ninfia' and if you google image 'Ninfia' then you'll find out that it's close to the word 'Ninfea' which is a type of flower, and as there's Leafeon, I believe Bug is the possibility."

Egprimm: "I bet all you guys are wrong and that it will be its own, exclusive type."

Samiesure: "From the types there are now i would pick flying type because of its waving stringy things but it could be a new type or even a multitype like fire and psychic .. Pokemon Rules."
