So, what do you get as a man who has a multi-million dollar contract, two Super Bowl rings and is one of the most respected defenders in NFL football?

Well, Miss Universe's hand in marriage would do nicely.

Such is the life of New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora, who is now engaged to former Miss Universe Leila Lopes, according to the New York Post. The New York tabloid's famed Page Six reported that Umenyiora proposed to Lopes over dinner in Atlanta last week.

According to the Post, the couple is planning to get married in 2014. The Angolan beauty queen Lopes, who was crowned Miss Universe in 2011, and the London-born Umenyiora, a two-time Pro Bowl defensive end with the Giants, were introduced to each other by publicist and New York-based Coleman Entertainment Group president BJ Coleman during Fashion Week last year, and began dating shortly after.

On Twitter, Umenyiora, who was enjoying the offseason in Italy last week, tweeted a picture of Lopes and himself intertwined blissfully on vacation, the tweet reading, "My beautiful fiancée Leila."

As USA Today notes, Lopes, 26, is only the fourth African woman to win the Miss Universe crown in the 60-year history of the international pageant.

Umenyiora, meanwhile, is a fairly rare breed himself, as one of only 36 British-born men to have played in the NFL. He won two Super Bowls with Eli Manning and the Giants in the 2007 and 2011 seasons.
