iTunes 11.0.2 Update Available Now: iTunes Store Redesigned, MiniPlayer Added, New Search for Composers

Apple has launched the next update to iTunes featuring enhancements and patches.

The iTunes 11.0.2 version was released yesterday afternoon, which features a new component for music composers. The new option gives iTunes users the ability to lets users sort by Composers.

The sync times have also improved with the new update. The sync response time has progressed particularly with iTunes with large numbers of songs. The iTunes fix also include reports of purchases not appearing in the iTunes library.

The new iTunes update include a new store, MiniPlayer, and improved search, among many more.

"You can now do a whole lot more with a lot less space. In addition to showing what's playing, MiniPlayer now includes album art, adds Up Next, and makes it easy to search for something new to play-all from a smaller and more elegant design," noted Apple, adding the iTunes Store was redesigned for a "clean look that makes it simpler than ever to see what's hot and discover new favorites."

The update comes after the iTunes Store reached a record of 25 billion songs sold earlier this month. The 25 billionth song to be downloaded was Chase Buch's "Monkey Drums" (Goksel Vancin Remix) by iTunes user Phillip Lüpke from Germany.

"We are grateful to our users whose passion for music over the past 10 years has made iTunes the number one music retailer in the world," said Apple's Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue. "Averaging over 15,000 songs downloaded per minute, the iTunes Store connects music fans with their favorite artists, including global sensations like Adele and Coldplay and new artists like The Lumineers, on a scale we never imagined possible."

With iTunes, more than 26 million songs are available for 119 countries.
