The New York Islanders will look to bounce back from the worst shutout loss in franchise history when they take on the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday evening.

After blowing out the New Jersey Devils on Saturday, many thought that the New York Islanders had finally turned a corner and were ready to make a run at the playoffs. However, the team imploded on Monday afternoon against the Philadelphia Flyers. The final score was 7-0; the Islanders have never lost by a bigger margin in a shutout at home. It was the second negative franchise record the team set this season; on Feb. 11, the Islanders lost despite scoring four power play goals. "Our effort wasn't good enough through the whole game," Goalie Evgeni Nabokov said. "They were better than us in every aspect, and it seemed like they were hungry and just wanted it a little bit more. But for whatever reason, it wasn't there for us tonight."

"I think everybody knows what kind of performance we put on the ice," added Captain Mark Streit. "We have to turn the page quickly. It was a terrible game on our part, from start to finish, but it's a quick turnaround. We have a game in Ottawa tomorrow, and then a big week against Montreal and Buffalo. We can't drop our heads here. We just have to play better tomorrow."

The Ottawa Senators snapped a two game losing streak when they took down the Devils on Monday in a 2-1 shootout victory. "We stuck with it," Captain Daniel Alfredsson said. "We didn't get off to the best of starts, but our goalie played solid the rest of the game and gave us a chance going into the third. In the third, we played our best period."

Predictions:  This goes to overtime; 3-2 Islanders.
