Singer Paulina Rubio has decided to pay her ex-husband Nicolas Vallejo-Nagera (Colate) $5 million.

According to Labotana.com, Rubio has grown tired of fighting with Colate over the custody of her child. The website stated that she would allow Colate to see his son Andrea Nicolas but did want to share the custody with him. Rubio will give him $5 million in order to sign their divorce and have full custody of their child.

The couple has been in courts for a number of weeks with no decision. The couple was asked to leave court after the two exploded into a fight in front of the judge. Rubio made headlines when she angrily accused Colate of being a bad father. She stated that her ex-husband did not care about her son and had a habit of leaving the child unattended at home while he went shopping with his sister. The Mexican singer also added that when the child was sick Colate took him to school even though the pediatrician suggested that the boy stay home and avoid contact with other children. She also contested that Colate only cares about the publicity and his only claim to fame is being the father of her child. She argued that otherwise her ex-husband is useless.

Colate defended himself stating that he would love to be in Spain with his family but could not because his son resides in Miami. He added that he does not need publicity, as his family is wealthy.

Rubio and Colate were married in 2007 in Cancun, Mexico. They agreed to separate in 2012 by mutual agreement.

Rubio is currently working on a reality TV show. She revealed via Twitter that the producers would be the same ones that produce the Kardashian's reality show on E!. The program will be targeted for Latinos and will be spoken in English.
