Jennifer Lopez has denied the rumors that she will play or be involved in the upcoming Jenni Rivera film.

A source linked to the Rivera family told Access Hollywood that "The J.Lo rumor is not true." The source told Access that the family plans on releasing a film chronicling Rivera's last concert in Monterrey, Mexico. According to Access the footage was shot the night before the plane crash. The source also stated that the film would be similar to Michael Jackson's "This is It ".

As previously reported the third season of "I Love Jenni," the reality show will premiere on April 14 on Mun2. The series will show footage of Rivera shot a month before her fatal death.

A few days ago TVyNovelas revealed that Rosie Rivera had met with Lopez and stated that they were planning on making a biopic of the singer with JLO's production company Nuyorican productions.

Lopez also recently stated that she believed that Rivera deserved a movie with a Hollywood budget similar to that of Selena Quintanilla. She also stated that she never met Rivera but was inspired by her story and respected her as one of the great Latin American artists.

Lopez recently sold her new show "The Fosters" to ABC family and her new film "Parker" is currently in theaters. Lopez also made headlines when she disobeyed the Grammy dress code. She told reporters on the red carpet that . She told reporters that "they didn't say anything about leg! I thought I was being such a good girl! A little shoulder, a little leg."

Angelica Vale and Alicia Machado are also rumored as potential candidates to play Jenni Rivera. However both have denied ever talking to the family.

Jenni Rivera died at 43 in early December. There is an English album slated to be released later this year.
