Nokia Lumia 920 Sales: Windows Phone 8 Smartphone Sale Sells Out in China; 3,000 Pre-Orders Made in One Hour

The Nokia Lumia 920 was on sale in China once again, and similar to reports last December, it sold out.

Back in December, Latinos Post reported "huge lines" at the Nokia Shanghai store. According to NokiaPowerUser, the lines led to the Lumia 920 to sell out within two hours. The smartphone, utilizing the Windows Phone 8 operating system, started to sell at 3 p.m. local time and then ran out of stock by 5 p.m.

Now in February, WMPowerUser reported a limited supply of the Cyan Lumia 920 was on sale, both off and on-contract with China Unicom. Accepting pre-orders for Yuan 4,599, which is about $738 when converted to the U.S. dollar, the Windows Phone 8 smartphone was available through retailer 360 Buy.

360 Buy had on hand 3,000 units of the Lumia 920 and announced it sold all units within one hour.

A message on Weibo by 360 Buy confirmed the news, and a translation stated, "Nokia Lumia 920 blue Jingdong exclusive debut of the 3,000 units sold in the pre-sale within 1 hour! Secretly tell you, there is a small amount can be scheduled Oh! Stay tuned Lumia 920 blue, 0 purchase, purchase Toll vote for it! Active link:https://t.cn/zYa9aSC."

An additional delivery of the Windows Phone 8 smartphone is expected for Feb. 25.

The news of the Lumia 920 in China comes as Nokia is rumored to reveal the next Lumia smartphones in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress, set to happen from Feb. 25 to 28.

In the U.S., the Lumia 920 is still on sale but it has seen a sale in price. Latinos Post reported the Windows Phone 8 smartphone being 50 percent off the AT&T two-year contract price for new AT&T customers if purchased on Amazon Wireless. The Amazon Wireless price is $49.99 while existing customers can buy the Lumia 920 for $69.99.

The Lumia 920 has a screen size of 4.5-inches with 1,280x768 pixel resolution, 32GB of internal storage with 1GB of RAM, eight-megapixel rear-facing camera with 3,264x2,448 pixels with LED flash, and 2,000 mAh battery capacity.
