Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale is busy recording a country album in Nashville.

Hale, 23, signed a record deal last year with Hollywood Records, The Hollywood Reporter revealed, the same label behind Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Jesse McCartney and the Jonas Brothers.

Hale couldn't reveal too many details about the album, but she says it's a mix of country and pop. "We definitely have more mainstream songs, but then we have songs that are straight-up country," she told EW's Music Mix blog.

"I think it's gonna shock a lot of people actually, so it's really exciting," she added. She told Music Mix that she was not even allowed to reveal song titles, but she described one song she's really excited about:

"It's a song about how I've always been a girl's girl...and never had a problem with jealousy," she said. "It's just about the everyday battles that all women go through. It's a uniting feeling for women and how that, at the end of the day, we're all going through the same things."

The exact release date is still not decided, but Hale said she will probably release a single in the next couple of months, "probably March or April. The album will come out this summer."

This is not the 'Pretty Little Liars' star's first venture into singing. In 2003, she won a singing reality show called American Juniors (a Fox spin-off of American Idol), and she has sung in various TV shows and movies, including her recent movie A Cinderella Story: Once Upon A Song, reports Ok!.

She also sang on her short-lived TV show Privileged. Check out this video of Hale singing "Fever" on the show -- turns out she really can sing!
