Despite most people expressing enthusiasm for JJ Abrams' appointment as the Star Wars director, one man is not happy about the prospect.

William Shatner, the original Captain Kirk from the "Star Trek" series, expressed his discontent about Abrams' decision to helm both the "Star Wars" and "Star Trek" franchises. "He's being a pig," said Shatner. "He's collecting the two franchises and holding them close to his vest. He's probably the most talented director of that ilk that we have, but he's gone too far this time."

Despite the comment, it seems that Shatner is friends with the director. "I think of him as a buddy of mine," the 81-year old actor added. "I've taken him out for sushi. I think it's time for J.J. and I to have another sushi and let me put him straight."

Shatner is one of the few people to actually express dissent over Abrams' decision. Members of the current Star Trek cast have seemingly approved of the director's decision. The current Captain Kirk Chris Pines recently stated that he was happy with the decision but "the only way I'll be disappointed is if he doesn't direct our third movie." Pine added "I think if that turns out to be the case we'll have to kidnap him and hold him hostage until he agrees to do a third."

Star Trek cast member Simon Pegg added in an interview that "I've always been a fan of both ... I've never come across someone who likes 'Star Trek' but hates 'Star Wars... If you are that, then clearly that's a sign of some sort of illness, 'cause there's room for everybody."

Pegg added, "I think it's great that J.J. is doing it... I hope he does more films with 'Star' before the first word. I think he should do 'Starbucks' as well. 'Starman.' 'Stars in Their Eyes.' Just get 'em all."

The new "Star Wars" movie is slated for a 2015 release. Michael Arndt will write the script while Abrams will direct.
