As we reported before, it appears Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn are dating. The latest news about Vonn's return to the U.S. only confirms what we thought originally. The LA Times reported that Vonn boarded Woods' private jet last week after suffering her season-ending leg injuries. With Lindsey in the fold and Tiger scheduled to play his next tournament next week, will that affect his performance?

Woods will have to hope that is not the case. He doesn't want to end up like a few other players, whose celebrity girlfriends have held back on the field. Tony Romo is one player that many people believe was distracted when Jessica Simpson was his girlfriend.

Tiger has already shown that off-the-field issues can cause on-course turmoil. Woods has not won a major tournament since before his split (and eventual divorce) with Elin Nordegren. He had an injury that kept him out a while, but has never returned to peak form. Although his career accomplishments might make the argument by his end, Woods has not been seen as the same inhuman force each event. Woods won the 2008 U.S. Open. From 1997 through that championship, he won at least one Major every year except 1998, 2003 and 2004.

Both Woods and Rory McIlroy announced their upcoming schedules in one of our stories earlier this week.

We talked about some of the most impressive accomplishments athletes had at the beginning of their careers here, including Tiger's historic Masters win way back when.

For more information on Tiger and Rory, consult this article that discusses their seasons so far and one of our first stories on Vonn's injury.

Tiger won his most recent tournament, the Farmers Insurance Open in Torrey Pines in January. He missed the cut in his first event of the year in Abu Dhabi. In the story we wrote about it, we also mentioned the rumors of Woods' supposed attempt to remarry Elin Nordegren.
