Microsoft has released an update for bugs affecting the Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, and Internet Explorer.
As Latinos Post reported, 57 components of Microsoft have been reported for a few Windows operating systems, such as XP, Vista, Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows 8. Among the components labeled critical are Internet Explorer (IE) 6, IE 7, IE 8, IE 9, and IE 10
As of Wednesday, Microsoft has released 12 patches, each featuring additional fixes and updates that may require restarting the computer.
Among the 12 patches from Microsoft Security Bulletin are MS13-009 and MS13-010, which has been categorized under critical. Microsoft classifies critical as, "A vulnerability whose exploitation could allow code execution without user interaction. These scenarios include self-propagating malware (e.g. network worms), or unavoidable common use scenarios where code execution occurs without warnings or prompts. This could mean browsing to a web page or opening email."
MS13-009 and MS13-010 fixes a reported vulnerability seen in Internet Explorer versions 6, 7, 8, 9, ad 10.
According to Microsoft, "The vulnerability [as seen in MS13-010] could allow remote code execution if a user viewed a specially crafted webpage using Internet Explorer. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights."
Internet Explorer users with Windows operating systems XP, Vista, 7, 8, and Windows RT (as seen with the Microsoft Surface tablet) are recommended to visit the Microsoft Security Bulletin.
