The #20 Georgetown Hoyas host the #24 Marquette Golden Eagles at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. at 7 pm EST on Monday night. The game is available nationwide on ESPN, and will stream on ESPN3 in the western U.S.

Georgetown is one game behind Marquette and Syracuse for the Big East Conference lead. The Golden Eagles and Orange are both 8-2 within the conference, while the Hoyas are at 7-3. This is the second of two regular season match-ups this year between the teams, with then-unranked Marquette upsetting then-#15 Georgetown at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee 49-48 on January 5.

The Hoyas are 3-1 in games against ranked teams this season, with the only loss coming to then-#1 Indiana in overtime back in November. There are four more games against ranked opponents for the D.C.-based team including tonight: the February 15 match against th current #17 Cincinnati Bearcats and a pair of games with now-#9 Syracuse.

Otto Porter, Jr. leads the Hoyas in points per game with 15 and steals per game with 1.8. He's also the leading rebounder, averaging eight per contest. He is the best three-point shooter on the team with a .455 mark behind the three-point line. Markel Stars is the leader in assists, averaging 2.8 per contest. Nate Lubick enters Monday's game with the highest shooting percentage on the team at .637.

Georgetown won its last road game, defeating the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 69-63 on Saturday afternoon. Starks had a team-high 20 points, Porter, Jr. hauled down 14 rebounds and Mikael Hopkins had a pair of blocks while the team outshot the Knights by almost 20 percent from the floor (57.4 percent to 38.9 percent). Marquette has won two games in a row since its last defeat, a 70-51 loss at the Louisville Cardinals on February 3. The Golden Eagles are 1-2 versus ranked teams, and they have four more this regular season including tonight.

Vander Blue has a team-high 15 points per game average for Marquette. Devante Gardner (5.2) leads in rebonds per game and Junior Cadougan averages 4.3 assists per game to pace the squad. Gardner has the highest field goal percentage (.574) and Jamil Wilson (.391) has the best three-point shot.

Marquette topped DePaul 89-78 on Saturday afternoon, with the Golden Eagles winning despite a .273 shooting percentage behind the three-point arc. The home team out-rebounded the visitors and also had more assists, and committed fewer turnovers.Blue had 18 points, Cadougan had 17 with six assists and five boards, and Chris Otule also had a handful of rebounds in the win.

In the January 5 game between Marquette and Georgetown, the Golden Eagles led at the half by one point and the teams tied at 29 points apiece in the second half. Marquette shot worse both from the floor and specifically from the three-point line, but out-rebounded the visiting team by nine (34-25). Starks was the game's leading scorer, notching 18 points and seven assists.Greg Whittington had eight boards in the loss. Blue and Gardner each had 12 points, Trent Lockett had ten rebounds, and Cadougan added six assists.
