Apple has warned against using the iOS 6 jailbreak for iOS 6.1, but some of those warnings might apply to Apple's own update to iOS 6.1, which is finding some frustrated customers after several compatibility issues and other bugs have been reported.

First, Vodafone and 3 Austria have found issues which make the iPhone 4S fail in connecting to their 3G networks after customers upgraded their devices to the official iOS 6.1 update. Users are unable to make or receive calls or texts, says CultofMac.

Both European carriers are telling their users who own iPhone 4S devices not to update their operating systems. "Apple is working on a solution to their software issue," according to a release from Vodafone.

In addition, some corporations are having problems with the update and urging users not to upgrade to iOS 6.1 and in some cases even blocking devices with iOS 6.1 from accessing some servers or network functions. In particular, it seems the Exchange feature is buggy for iOS 6.1 users. AOL, for example, has told its employees that managing meetings through their iPhones has been disabled because of the bug.

According to PhonesReview, the bug in iOS 6.1 causes the device to repeatedly connect to the Exchange server, slowing down network traffic, draining the device's battery, and overheating it.

It looks like Apple will be releasing a fix for iOS 6.1, iOS 6.1.1, to address these problems, although that will lead to a completely new problem for some users of Apple devices: until Evasi0n or other hackers address the changes in iOS 6.1.1, the iOS 6.1 Jailbreak may not work with the iOS 6.1.1 update.
