It was a big day for Ole Miss on Wednesday's National Signing Day as No.1 national high school prospect Robert Nkemdiche announced his intentions to sign with the University of Mississippi along with several other top recruits.

Nkemdiche, who hails from Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., is ranked No.1 on ESPN's 150 rankings of the top high school football players in the nation. The 6'5" 260-pound gridiron standout chose to go with the Ole Miss Rebels--where his brother, Denzel Nkemdiche, plays--over LSU and Florida, which were also recruiting him, during National Signing Day, when top high school recruits declare their intentions to play football for a college of their choice in the fall.

""I feel like it's the right place for me," Nkemdiche told ESPN Wednesday. "I feel like they can do special things, and they're on the rise. I feel like going to play with my brother, we can do something special."

Nkemdiche has gotten rave reviews in scouting reports. Dawg Post.com scout Scott Kennedy describes the young high school football star as a "running back skill set in a 6'4/360 pounds frame" and "physically impressive with dominating production."

"Nkemdiche has uncommon strength and power to go along with feet quick enough that he could be a viable RB prospect. He's strong enough to manhandle an offensive tackle and quick enough to run by him and chase down a ball carrier from behind. He has good flexibility allowing him to get low and change direction like he was on rails," the scouting report reads.

Those comments don't come without stats to back them up, as Nkemdiche netted two straight 18-sack seasons for his high school Alma Mata

However, Nkemdiche won't be alone joining Mississippi as top-ranked high school offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, of Lake City, Fla./Columbia, the nation's No. 1 receiver in Laquon Treadwell of Crete, Ill., and high school standouts Austin Golson, an offensive lineman and safety Antonio Conner.

This crop sets the stage for Ole Miss to have one of its most stellar recruiting classes in history, which could set the NCAA's Division I Southeaster Conference (SEC) on its head. And Ole Miss' football program could use a boost after finishing only with a 7-6 record last year and a 2-10 season in 2011.

Ole Miss has produced several alumni that have been successful in the NFL, chief among them two-time Super Bowl Champion and Pro Bowl quarterback Eli Manning of the New York Giants.
