The rivalry between the New York Rangers (4-4-0) and the New Jersey Devils (4-1-3) will reignite on Tuesday night at the Prudential Center in Newark.

The two rivals met last spring in the Eastern Conference Finals when the Devils eliminated the Rangers four games to two. The Devils ended a four game slump on Sunday afternoon when they shutout the New York Islanders 3-0 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Johan Hedberg got the start in goal and made 22 saves for the shutout. Steve Bernier scored twice for the Devils in the win and David Clarkson added an empty net goal.

The Rangers played their best game of the season on Saturday when they took down the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2. Rick Nash scored a dazzling third period equalizer while Carl Hagelin added the game winner on his first goal of the season. Martin Biron made 30 saves in the victory.

Previous Meetings: This is the first game between the two rivals. They split the four games last season.
