Wii U owners will get their first Zelda title this fall when Nintendo releases an HD remake of "The Wind Waker." Despite no release date being officially announced, two retailers may have revealed the launch date for the highly anticipated title.

According to Wii U Daily, online retailers Amazon and GameStop are taking pre-orders for "The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD." Both stores list the title as "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for Wii U" and price the game at $59.99. More importantly, both retailers state that the title will be available on Dec. 31, 2013. Nintendo has not confirmed a release date for the title, but the fact that both stores coincide could indicate that gamers will be able to get their hands on the HD "Wind Waker" on New Year's Eve.

The title was officially announced on Jan. 23 during Nintendo's Direct program. Franchise director Eiji Aonuma announced that will not only feature updated graphics but an altered game play experience that will also incorporate Miiverse. Aonuma also stated that gamers will be able to play the title both on the TV and off the TV and on the GamePad.

The release of "Wind Waker" is a prelude to Nintendo's upcoming Wii U Zelda title. No screenshots have been offered for that title, but the company has hinted that the game could include multi-player game play and a non-linear design.
