Two hated rivals face-off when the Chicago Blackhawks (6-0-1) visit the Vancouver Canucks (3-2-2).

The Blackhawks and Canucks have had monumental playoff series over the years but both teams are currently headed in opposite directions. The Blackhawks are one of the top teams in the league and have yet to register a regulation loss. Chicago is coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to the Minnesota Wild in which they held a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes. The Blackhawks have looked strong in all areas of the game with goaltender Corey Crawford performing admirably. After producing a 2.72 goals against average with a .903 save percentage in 2011-12, Crawford has given up only 1.79 GAA in six games.

The Canucks' goalie controversy could soon be over, but not the way many have expected. Cory Schneider was supposed to start the season as the number one goalie and Roberto Luongo was supposed to be shipped out. However, Luongo has played in the last two games for Vancouver and has been the better of the two keepers. In his most recent outing Luongo pitched a 24-save shutout as the Canucks cruised to a 3-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche. Luongo is expected to get the start on Friday against Chicago.

Predictions: Chicago vs. Luongo will be the major matchup. The Hawks have played well against the netminder in the past. However, Luongo has a lot to prove and will play a tremendous match. 4-1 Vancouver.
