The fourth-ranked Florida Gators men's basketball team is in action again on Wednesday at 8 pm EST, as it plays host to South Carolina. Florida has won eight straight games and all six of its SEC games.

The Gators' leading scorer is Kenny Boynton with 13.6 points per game, though four Gators averaging at least ten points per contest. Will Yeguete leads the way with 6.7 rebounds per game, and Scottie Wilbekin has a team-high 5.1 assists per game.

Florida doubled up Mississippi State in the first half of an 82-47 victory for the road team. The Gators scored 41 points in each half, allowing just 19 to the Bulldogs in the first.Erik Murphy and Boynton tied for the team lead with 18 points, while Patric Young and Wilbekin each added 13 of their own. Murphy and Boynton each added four three-pointers and six boards.

Florida has spent 10 weeks ranked in the AP Top 10 this season, making the Top 25 in the other three weeks. For the first time this season, the Gators received a first place vote this week. Fourth is the highest rank Florida has had so far.

The Gators and Gamecocks haven't played yet this season, with Florida winning both of last year's match-ups. Tonight's game is the only scheduled one in the 2012-2013 campaign.

The South Carolina Gamecocks snapped a two-game losing streak with a victory the last time out against the Arkansas Razorbacks, topping their SEC brethren by 21 points. Junior Brian Richardson had 20 points off of the bench to lead the team, and only one Razorbacks player scored double-digit points.

Senior LaShay Page is one of three Gamecocks to average more than 10 points per game, barely edging out Brenton Williams (11.7 ppg to 11.6). Lakeem Jackson averages more rebounds than anyone on the squad, collecting boards at a 7.1 per-game clip. Junior Eric Smith has a team-high 3.5 assists average.

The Gamecocks' most recent road loss was two games ago versus Missouri, when the 22nd-ranked Tigers topped their visitors 71-65. The last road win was on Januar y16, as SC defeated LSU 82-73 in overtime. SC has just one double-digit defeat, which came in November to St. John's.
