Dead Space 3's necromorphs are lurking in the shadows, biding their time as gamers prepare to reenter Isaac Clarke's twisted mind once more on Feb. 5.

Yet, many PC players are hesitant to jump back in, afraid that the latest entry in the franchise fails to deliver the best possible experience on their computer. Despite criticism from fans that the PC version of the game is being neglected, Visceral Games Executive Producer Steve Papoutis assures Shack News that the developer "want[s] it to be great on all systems, that's our approach."

Papoutis adds, "As a studio, we've always made console games. The biggest thing is we want to make sure the quality of the experience is consistent across all platforms so we don't have one userbase saying its better on their system."

The producer explains that Dead Space 2, which Visceral chose to not optimize for PC, still "made some great strides in terms of controls, responsiveness and even visual improvements we got into it."  The second entry of the franchise also managed to implement alternative controls for players with disabilities as well, notes Papoutis.

Dead Space 3 picks up months after Isaac Clarke and Ellie Langford escape the Sprawl. The duo meet Sgt. Carver, and together they discover that a frozen planet called Tau Volantis holds the secrets to the source of the Markers. In an attempt to land on the planet, their ship breaks apart, separating Ellie from Clarke and Carver. The two partners have to find and save Ellie, and overcome the Necromorph threat.

Hesitant players can check out the demo for free on the PSN and Xbox Live now. For gamers who plan on playing the game on the same console which holds Mass Effect 3 save data, expect a free N7 armor.
