In Thursday's episode of 'The Vampire Diaries,' entitled "Catch Me if you Can," new vampire hunter Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is attacked by Original Hybrid Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) horde of new vampires and he isn't too happy about it. It doesn't help matters that Jeremy's good friend Matt (Zach Roerig) is being used as bait for the fresh vampires.

In their desperate run to reach the Gilbert cabin, Jeremy and Matt get separated and Matt gets attacked by a vampire, but is saved by his former girlfriend Elena (Nina Dobrev). Despite some initial fears that Matt would be killed by one of the new vampires, Klaus' brother Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) kills all the vampires in his quest to stop everyone from seeking the cure. When Jeremy and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) seek out the vampires, they're met by Kol who attempts to kill Jeremy but captures Damon instead.

Elena seeks out Klaus to save her little brother Jeremy from dying at the hands of Kol and makes a pact with him. Klaus calls Kol to stop his mission to kill Jeremy, which Kol agrees to but not before compelling Damon to kill Jeremy instead. Damon soon realizes that he's been compelled to kill Jeremy and tells him to stay as far away from him as possible.

Meanwhile, Damon's brother Stefan (Paul Wesley) is still reeling from finding out that his one true love Elena is actually in love with his brother. In order to spite her, he teams up with Original Vampire Rebekah (Claire Holt). However, it doesn't stop him from helping Elena and Jeremy out by killing Damon (temporarily) and putting him in the dungeon bellow until the compulsion can be broken.

At the same time, Dr. Shane (David Alpay) is taken into custody by Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre) and new Mayor Hopkins (guest star Rick Worthy), which prompts questions from Bonnie (Kat Graham). Bonnie discovers that Shane is behind the deaths of the Founders' Council. The episode wraps up with Stefan giving in to Rebekah and the two beginning what should prove to be a steamy and volatile intimate relationship.

This Thursday's episode, entitled "A View to a Kill," little sister Rebekah won't be keen on helping Klaus stop Kol and protect Jeremy, despite Kol's last attempt to kill her. The situation will forces Klaus to reach out to Stefan for help. Klaus will also further raise the tension between the Salvatore brothers when he reveals some information about Stefan's personal life and then asks Damon for advice, the CW teases.

Bonnie will continue to clash with her dad, Mayor Hopkins, and will also have a "frightening run-in with Kol, followed by an unexpected visitor," teases the CW. Elena will let Stefan in on her risky plan to kill Kol, putting him in a rough situation. While dealing with Elena's crazy dangerous plan, Stefan also finds a "charming" way to make up the cancelled 1980s Decade Dance to his new lady-love Rebekah.

'The Vampire Diaries' S4E12, "A View to a Kill," airs Thursday, January 31 at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.
