Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins will look to regroup on Friday when they travel to Winnipeg to take on the Jets.

The Penguins suffered a devastating loss on Wednesday night when they were annihilated 5-2 by the Toronto Maple Leafs in their home opener.

Sidney Crosby scored his first goal of the season and added an assist, but the team suffered numerous defensive lapses that led to Toronto goals. The Penguins had gotten off to a solid start last weekend when the team took down the Philadelphia Flyers 3-1 before going to the Madison Square Garden to demolish the New York Rangers 6-3. The offense has been solid throughout the three games, but the goaltending of Marc-Andre Fleury has been occasionally worrisome. The goalie gave up his fair share of soft goals against Toronto and will need to improve if Pittsburgh is going to make a deep run this season.

The Winnipeg Jets are flying high after earning their first win of the season on Tuesday against the Washington Capitals. The team lost its opener 4-1 to the Ottawa Senators before pushing Boston to the shootout in a 2-1 loss. The win over Washington was a dominating display from the Jets though it could be argued that Washington is not a proper measuring stick for any team at this moment. The Jets will have to prove themselves against the Penguins who have been potent this season.

Prediction: Pittsburgh should win this match. The Penguins won three of four last year and scored 16 goals in their last two (8-5 and 8-4 wins). Expect a lot of goals in this one. 6-4 Penguins.
