The Buffalo Sabres will look to get back on track in their rematch against the Carolina Hurricanes on home ice.

The Sabres jumped out to a tremendous start with a 5-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers and 2-1 victory over Toronto. However, the team's solid play was halted on Thursday night when Buffalo visited the Carolina Hurricanes.

Backup goaltender Jonas Enroth got the start and looked rusty in a 6-3 drubbing that saw him concede four even strength goals and one short-handed tally. Despite the blowout the team continued to get production from its top line. Thomas Vanek added another two assists in the loss to bring his total to eight points while Captain Jason Pominville had two goals to bring his points total up to seven this year so far. It is likely that Buffalo starts Ryan Miller on Friday -- the netminder has only allowed three goals in the first two games of the season.

The Hurricanes got over their dreadful start with the 6-3 pummeling of Buffalo. The team had started the season with a 4-1 loss to Florida and a 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Tampa Bay. However, Carolina's resurgence on Thursday was the result of tremendous play from Captain Eric Staal who scored the 13th hat trick of his career.

Predictions: It will be a far tighter game in Buffalo and the home team will likely be the more aggressive side. Carolina goalie Cam Ward has not been great this season and goaltending will be the difference in this one. 4-2 Buffalo.
