Super Bowl Sunday is around the corner, and while most of America will be seeing whether the San Francisco 49ers or the Baltimore Ravens will emerge as the kings of football, many will tune in simply to catch another glimpse of Melbourne supermodel Kate Upton.

In the three days since Mercedes Benz released a preview of its Super Bowl 2013 commercial titled "Kate Upton Washes the All-New Mercedes-Benz CLA in Slow Motion," the video has garnered over 4 million views on YouTube.

As you can see, Mercedes had the foresight to outfit Kate Upton in a black tank top and cutoff jeans. There's no immediately obvious reason as to why Upton decides to break out in a sultry dance some 10 feet away from the car before going over to the "carwashers," but one must remember that artistic integrity was probably high on the German automaker's list of priorities.

If you're wondering who exactly Kate Upton is, she began gracing the pages of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 2011, when she was named Rookie of the Year. As a reward, she was chosen as the cover model for the 2012 issue. Upton can also claim being a Victoria's Secret model, as well as both American and Italian Vogue.

There's no doubt the video has served it's purpose - more people now know about the Mercedes Benz CLA than before, but whether or not that will translate to sales, remains to be seen. Still, whichever marketing campaign came up with this brainstorm is bound to be getting a raise.
