During a recent interview with British media in Afghanistan, Prince Harry shared his experiences in combat as Captain Wales and his excitement over becoming an uncle to his brother William and sister-in-law Catherine's baby. The British royal added that he hoped that his sister-in-law would be granted the privacy she needs during her pregnancy from the media.

"I'm thrilled for both of them. It's about time," Harry told reporters. "I can't wait to be an uncle." The 28-year-old added, "I think it's very unfair that they were forced to publicize it when they were, but that's the media for you. And, um, I'm literally very happy for them."

Harry added, "My only hope is that she and him, but mainly Catherine, hopefully gets the necessary protection to allow her, the mother, mother-to-be, to enjoy the privacy that comes with. I seriously hope that is going to be able to happen."

The royal, who is third in line for the British throne, didn't hide his disdain for the media. "I had a chat with them [William and Catherine]. I didn't send them a letter of congratulations, how most of the papers [reported]. How the papers think that they know the relationship between myself and my sister-in-law, is quite remarkable. They're wrong as always," the red-headed royal said. "Yeah, I spoke to my brother and her and they're both very well, very happy obviously."

The British royal spoke to the press during the tail-end of a five-month tour of duty in Afghanistan, which began in September 2012. It is Captain Harry Wales' second tour of duty with the British Army. His first tour of duty, in 2007-2008, was cut short when his whereabouts were made public in the media.

According to the BBC, the Apache helicopter co-pilot gunner will head home for four or five weeks, during which he hopes to "take on more royal stuff" and "pay some more attention to the charities."
