Nokia can rebuild the Lumia 920. They have the technology. They have the capability to build the world's first 41MP PureView camera variant. Better, stronger, faster.

Outdated science fiction references aside, Ubergizmo reports that sources close to the Nokia tell Flavio Pic that the Lumia 920 is due for an upgrade this year, and that the company will unveil its photographer friendly device at the Mobile World Conference 2013 (MWC). The Barcelona event kicks off on February 25th, and concludes on the 28th.

The insider reveals that Nokia has attached the "Project EOS" codename to the upgraded Lumia. Ubergizmo adds that another "metal-body" version of the Lumia 920 is also in the works. Flavio's claims validate comments made by The Verge's Senior Editor Tom Warren, who recently published a twitter post teasing, "If you're on Verizon and want a high-end Nokia Lumia. You're going to be happy soon." The Verge's own sources suggest that AT&T will ship the Lumia 920 variant "later this year."

Specs for the current Nokia Lumia 920 model include a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB RAM, a 4.5-inch screen, complimented by both an 8.7-megapixel camera and a 'PureView' Camera. The EOS will reportedly carry a sensor akin to the Nokia 808 PureView smartphone.
