Former Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan tied the knot this weekend with her boyfriend of nearly two years, Clay Pell.

Kwan, 32, met Pell, 31, in April 2011 and they were engaged five months later, according to Yahoo! News.

Just under 250 friends and family members, including Olympic champions Brian Boitano, Dick Button, and Dorothy Hamill, watched as Kwan and Pell exchanged their vows at the First Unitarian Church of Providence, Rhode Island.

Kwan and Pell exchanged self-written vows, and they "even spontaneously kissed before their traditional end-of-ceremony kiss," reported Yahoo! News.

Kwan wore an ivory Vera Wang gown, according to People, and "cried while walking down the aisle with her father, Danny Kwan."

Kwan's new husband is director for strategic planning on the National Security staff at the White House, People revealed. He's also a JAG and Lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Following Coast Guard tradition, the couple walked under a saber archway as they left the church. They then headed to the Hope Club across the street to celebrate.

"You could feel the love Michelle and Clay have for each other," People quoted a guest at the wedding as saying about the couple. "They are truly a perfect match."

In an interview with People last September, Kwan said she had fallen in love with Pell at first sight, and that when he proposed, she didn't hesitate before saying yes.

"It was amazing from the very beginning how in sync our way of thinking is, our basic values and our sense of priorities," she said. "We just both got each other."

"I felt there was a magnetic connection between us. He was the one from the beginning," she added.
