On Jan. 22, Telemundo will launch their soap opera 'Pasion Prohibida.' The series will star JenCarlos Canela, Monica Spears and Rebecca Jones.

The telenovela tells the story of Bianca Santillana (Monica Spear), a beautiful woman that becomes a victim of her own vengeance. Everything unfolds when she discovers a dark secret of her mother Flavia (Rebecca Jones). As if by destiny, Bianca appears in the life of Bruno Hurtado (JenCarlos Canela), an attractive playboy with whom she will face seemingly insurmountable challenges.

The series is based on the Turkish telenovela 'Ask-I Memu' which was adapted from the novel of the same name. The new version is updated to modern day Miami instead of it novel's original 19th century setting.

JenCarlos Canela last starred in 'Mi Corazon Insiste' in 2011, while Monica Spears starred in 'Flor Salvaje' in the title role in 2011. Spears had her breakout when she won Miss Venezuela in 2004 and first starred in 'La Mujer Perfecta' for Venevision. Veteran actress Rebecca Jones was last seen in 'Para Volver Amar' in 2010. She garnered a nomination for lead actress at the prestigious Premios TVyNovelas for her role in Mexico.

Telemundo produced the series with a script by Juan Camilo Ferrand (Pablo Escobar: El Patron del Mal) and was shot in Miami. Telemundo has also decided to air the first 20 minutes online. The soap opera will replace 'Rosa Diamante' and will air at 8pm.
