Actually, more than you might think, according to the USA Today's interview with the superstar actor on Wednesday, where Kutcher explained his new role developing products for Lenovo.

Of course, he'll also be a celebrity face for the Lenovo brand, but Kutcher's new deal with electronics hardware maker Lenovo goes deeper than that. According to the USA TODAY interview, Kutcher - who is known for his roles on CBS's Two and a Half Men, FOX's That '70s Show, and, most notably tech-related, playing Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in the biopic Jobs - Kutcher will be helping the Chinese computer company "make their products as consumer friendly as possible."

How in-depth can Ashton Kutcher, known for playing lightweights on the small screen, get in developing Lenovo products, you ask? More than you'd think. According to David Roman, chief marketing officer at Lenovo, the TV star "will help us break new ground by challenging assumptions, bringing new perspective and contributing his technical expertise to Yoga Tablet and other devices."

What technical expertise, you ask? Kutcher actually studied biomechanical engineering at the University of Iowa, though he did not graduate, and is the co-founder of a tech-focused investing group called A-Grade Investments. Among its best tech investments include successes like AirBnB, FourSquare, Spotify, and others. Roman says the partnership will include "deeply integrating [Kutcher] into our organization as a product engineer."

For Kutcher's part, he's planning to fly to China to talk with Lenovo engineers about the forthcoming Lenovo Yoga tablet, which Kutcher has already helped elevate as a consumer product by attaching his name to it. Whether Kutcher's involvement will elevate the product design has yet to be seen.
