Good news! The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is coming to the HTC One in the U.S. very soon, within a matter of weeks. The bad news is that the first wave of Android 4.3 updates will not come with a new version of HTC Sense 5.0.

This, according to insider @LlabTooFeR (via PhoneArena), gives U.S. HTC One owners a little hope, while also making them wait for Sense 5.5. Meanwhile, the international version of the HTC One will get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and HTC Sense 5.5, all rolled into one update.

The Android 4.3 Update was promised for HTC One handsets a few weeks ago by the U.S. president of HTC, who said that the HTC One would skip the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update and go straight to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. He put the time frame for the update as happening by the end of September. At the time, he promised that the DNA would also get an update.

Now, from trusted HTC One Android 4.3 ROM tinkerer LlabTooFeR, we also have some new details about which HTC models will be getting the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. First, the disappointing news: the HTC One S and the HTC EVO 4G LTE (a Sprint HTC exclusive) will not be getting Android 4.3. Ever.

But the upcoming HTC One Max, along with all HTC One models, and the HTC Butterfly S and HTC One mini variants will eventually get Sense 5.5 and the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean brings improvements over previous Android operating systems, including OpenGL 3.0 support, for better gaming and video graphics. There's also multiple restricted profiles and Bluetooth Smart Ready support.
