It looks like the LG Optimus G Pro, the South Korean manufacturer's current flagship smartphone, is finally making its way to Sprint. It was spotted getting a review at the FCC on Tuesday.
The LG Optimus G Pro has already been unveiled and is available for AT&T customers and soon for Verizon, and it looks like Sprint will be jumping on the LG bandwagon soon as well. It was spotted at the Federal Communications Commission, getting its specs checked out for the wireless company. According to Engadget, the device being reviewed by the FCC is quite likely the LG Optimus G Pro because the model number listed, LG LS980, follows other carrier's versions of the device.
The Optimus G Pro for Sprint will have support for the wireless provider's Now Network, with CDMA and LTE support, along with the original GSM support. So the good news is that it's very likely that the LG flagship is headed to Sprint, but the bad news is that there's still no hint of a release date in the works.
The LG Optimus G Pro is a 5.5-inch screened behemoth, powered by a quad-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and 2GB of RAM. The display has full a 1080 HD screen, at 1920x1080p resolution with an impressive 440 pixels per inch. It comes with a 13-megapixel main camera that can shoot 1080p HD video, and a 2.1-megapixel front facer.
The device comes with 32GB storage, but that can be expanded for up to 64GB more with the microSD slot. A hefty 3000 mAh Li-Po battery can power the phablet-sized device for up to 15 hours, with a standby time of 24 days, which runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
