Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva wants his team to ink Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney this summer to further boost their attacking unit.

Silva, who was tasked to defend Rooney in last week's 2-2 draw between England and Brazil, believes the striker is a perfect fit for PSG, which has steadily climbed positions to become a juggernaut in European football.

"I love this player. Whenever I have played against him he has scored," Silva told ESPN FC. "I would really like Rooney to sign for PSG. This would be a reinforcement of quality for us."

Paris Saint-Germain bagged the Ligue 1 Championship and reached the quarterfinal round of the UEFA Champions League by leaning heavily on a collection of quality players, including Silva, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the recently retired David Beckham.

The "Selecao" captain has been rumored to sign with Spanish powerhouse Barcelona, but Silva assured that he will honor his contract with PSG.

"This is something that occurs at each transfer window," Silva added. "I am under contract at PSG [until 2017] and I hope to go after this contract."

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo is hopeful he and Real Madrid will finally come through with an extension deal, and once for all, put an end on speculations that he's going to leave Los Blancos after 2015.

Manchester United and PSG have shown interest to sign the former FIFA Player of the Year winner in case the deal with Real Madrid doesn't prosper.
