2KSports, the company behind some of the most successful sports simulation games, announced on Thursday that Miami Heat star forward LeBron James will grace the cover of NBA 2K4.

James finally landed the cover of 2KSports' popular basketball simulation game franchise after being snubbed repeatedly over the years in favor of not so worthy players - Carmelo Anthony, Blake Griffin, and Ben Wallace.

Don't get me wrong, these guys mentioned above are 'helluva' ballplayers but their on-court portfolios were not justifiable enough for them to grace the cover of perhaps the greatest sport simulation franchise in gaming history.

On the other hand, James is consensus best player in the planet and he simply epitomizes what's basketball all about.

James has produced another season-to-remember by leading the Miami Heat to its best regular-season finish in franchise history at 66-16.

He also captured his fourth career MVP trophy after averaging 26.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists while shooting a staggering 565 percent from the field.

In the postseason, James once again played a major role in powering the Heat to dominant series victory against the Milwaukee Bucks (4-0 in the first-round) and the Chicago Bulls (4-1 in the second round) before willing his team past the Indiana Pacers in a hard-fought Eastern Conference Finals series that went to seven games.

Now in the cusp of another NBA title, James is facing a team that humiliated him in the finals six years ago when he was still a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Legends are made, not born. In the case of LeBron, he's accomplishment are far more than legendary. He's out there to give a whole new meaning to the word, greatness.

If you are going to ask me on who are the players deserving to be the face of an NBA 2K game, It would be Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James. Other than they are all champions and surefire Hall of Famers, these ballers are all master showmen and share the same drive to win.
