Brandon Jennings will be in a new home next season as Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reported that the Milwaukee Bucks and the Detroit Pistons agreed in a sign-and-trade deal on Wednesday.

According to Wojnarowski, Jennings, a restricted free agent this summer, will sign a three-year deal worth $24 million and will then be shifted to Detroit.

In return, the Milwaukee Bucks will acquire promising guard Brandon Knight along with forward Khris Middleton and Ukrainian center Viacheslav Kratsov.

Jennings, who is one of the top free agents in the market, was frustrated with the lack of push from the Bucks. He was reportedly on the verge of signing a one-year qualifying offer to return to Milwaukee next season and become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Then, the Pistons came into the picture, stalling Jennings' initial plans. The Pistons and the Bucks reportedly engaged in a long discussion on Tuesday until reaching an agreement in principle, which will finally end the free agency drama for Jennings.

Jennings, the 10th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, averaged 17.5 points to go along with 6.5 assists and 3.1 rebounds. His point production dipped a bit compared to his 19.1 points average in the 2011-12 season, but he averaged one more assists than his tally in the previous season.

Known as one of the best scoring point guards in the league today, Jennings had few attempts from the field last season due to the Bucks' acquisition of high-scoring guard Monta Ellis.

Jennings is expected to fill in the Pistons' needs at the point guard spot, which was one of their weakest positions in the past few seasons.

The acquisition of the 23-year-old point guard marks another chapter in the rebuilding process for the Pistons, who also acquired All-Star forward Josh Smith and veteran point guard Chauncey Billups through free agency earlier this month.

Billups, who inked a two-year deal with the Pistons, was signed primarily to mentor Knight, but it turned out that Jennings will be the one who will be under his tutelage in the next few seasons, hoping that Detroit will finally end its four-year playoff drought.
