One lane of a West Virginia highway was closed by authorities on Sunday after a young boy accidentally spilled thousands of Lego piece from a top of his mother's SUV.
Police found the mess of little brick toys on Interstate 79 in Harrison County and temporarily closed part of the road as a safety precaution. Authorities said the thousands of little bricks may create slippery conditions for cars driving on the road, the Inquisitr reports.
Police don't know where the Legos came from but after a photo of the scene surfaced on Facebook, a user, who identified herself as Tiffany Lantz, apologized for the mess and wrote on the social networking site that her eleven-year-old son is the culprit
"Those legos belonged to my 11 yr old son they where in totes strapped to the top of the durango they fell off strap came loose he cried it seemed like forever but I tried to recover as many as I could cause I don't have the money to buy him anymore," she wrote.
Lantz's story can't be verified and authorities have not commented about the post, reports say.
The Facebook photo of the Legos, where Lantz made her comments, has draw a slew of responses and has been shared among 200 users. Some of the comments posted are by people who claim to have been in the area when the incident occurred and they support Lantz's story.
"I was stuck in traffic for this. Looked like a big rubbermaid bin of legos fell out of a car/truck. I didnt see the car, but i saw the rubbermaid and a lady trying to pick through them," a user wrote.
Many users even offered to replace the boy's lost Legos.
"I would like to donate a few bucks towards some replacement Legos for your kid as well. I loved my Legos when I was a kid and as a new parent I now know how expensive they are," another user wrote.
