Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens have revealed that they think their next movie "Spring Breakers" will be controversial.

The trailer to their new movie was released on Jan.18 and sparked a media conversation. "Spring Breakers" focuses on four female college students' pursuit of a spring break adventure. In the trailer the four woman are shown brandishing guns while wearing bikinis and engaging in risky behavior.

Selena Gomez stated, "I think that it's going to be very interesting and a little controversial." She added "I'm a little nervous about it, but honestly it's a right step for me. I'm really proud of it. I think that as an actress it really challenged me and all the other actresses are also trying to prove themselves. So, it was just really really fun." She added, "People will be a little shocked, I think."

Hudgens is also proud of work in the film and that she "just really pushed it to the limit and achieved some amazing things."

Gomez has recently made headlines for her on-and-off relationship with pop star Justin Bieber. Hudgens is famous for appearing in "High School Musical" with Zac Efron. She will appear later this year in Robert Rodriguez's "Machete Kills."

Director Harmony Korine last helmed "Trash Humpers" in 2009. He rose to fame after writing the NC-17 film "Kids" which examined the sex and drugs lives of New York City teenagers.

"Spring Breakers" also stars James Franco, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine. The film had its debut at the Venice Film Festival and opens in limited release on March 22th.
