Samsung is rumored to be unveiling a new smartphone whose name is as awkward as it might feel held up against your ear. Meet the 5.8 inch Samsung Galaxy Fonblet. You read that right. And it's not a typo: The Fonblet.

Very little specs details are known right now about the phone/tablet (fon-blet, get it?) hybrid that may be hitting the European market sometime this year, but there are some rumors. Over at SamMobile they're reporting that the Samsung smartphone, or tablet, will include a dual-SIM capability. It will be available in Pure White, and will run some version of Android's operating system, probably a Jelly Bean variant.

And then there's the 5.8 inch screen size. It's the same size as the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8, which was Samsung's big screen media player response to the iPod Touch. To put it differently, and for the sake of comparison, remember that the iPad Mini is just under 8 inches. So imagine holding something about 75 percent the size of the iPad Mini up to your ear to make a phone call (Galaxy Note 2 owners know what we're talking about).

Still, the Samsung Galaxy Fonblet (GT-I9152) may not even be the largest smartphone (or the smallest text and phone-call capable tablet) we see this year. BGR.com reports that there are rumors that the third generation of the Samsung Galaxy Note could have up to a 6.3 inch display screen. Perhaps we'll learn more details about these monster smartphones when the Mobile World Congress happens in Barcelona, Spain this year, starting February 25th.

I'm just waiting until small tablets and jumbo smartphones finally meet in the middle at around 7 inches, what about you?
