The director search for the next Star Wars movie continues as recent speculation leads us to a few new candidates, including Wes Anderson and "Dredd" director Pete Travis.

Anderson dismissed any notions of possibly directing the popular franchise and noted that "Well, I have a feeling I would probably ultimately get replaced on the film because I don't know if I have all the right action chops." The Moonrise Kingdom director explained that he knows the series' characters really well, but that his version would likely be too short.

Travis, on the other hand, was not as dismissive and noted that "I wouldn't count out anything in this business, really. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?"

A number of directors have turned down the possibility of helming the next Star Wars movie. They include Steven Spielberg, Guillermo Del Toro, Quentin Tarantino, JJ Abrams, Brad Bird, and Zak Snyder.

One director who is still considered the favorite to land the job is Matthew Vaughn. According to the Huffington Post, long-time collaborator Jason Flemyng suggested that Vaughn may be in line to direct the film during an interview. "Me and Matt have done nine films together, so I'm sure I'll get the call for 'Star Wars." When asked about Vaughn's interest in directing, Flemyng added that "I think that's -- he's interested, yeah."
