An official Fallout 4 announcement may not be far off, if a recent Twitter post by franchise voice actor Erik Todd Dellums is any indication. Dellums portrayed the character Three Dog in Fallout 3 when the series revival launched just a few years ago.

"To all my #Fallout3 and #ThreeDog fans: There may be more of the Dog coming! Fingers crossed!" reads his tweet. "How was that for a tease! I was given permission to release that tease, so fingers crossed."

Rumors suggest that Bethesda began work on Fallout 4 following the launch of the latest Elder Scrolls installment. The developer's past three games have released on a two-to-three year cycle. Oblivion debuted in 2006, followed by Fallout 3 in 2008 and Skyrim in 2011. We are about due for a new game between Fall 2013 and Spring 2014.

While details are sparse, Fallout 4 will reportedly take place in Boston, according to IGN. So far, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Maryland, and Washington D.C. have served as settings for the series.

It is unclear whether or not Fallout 4 will be a next-gen title, but it's hard to believe that Bethesda would pass up the tremendous installed base of Xbox 360 and PS3 players. If the game in fact launches on new hardware, expect current-gen versions to reach players as well.
