Manchester United has made a ton of major transfer news in the first week of 2013, but very few of those stories actually featured actual signings. That is all about to change as a number of reports indicate that the English Premier League leaders are slated to sign Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace.

According to Dan Talintyre of Bleacher Report, Tottenham Hotspur had also been in contention to sign the 20-year old attacker, but the team has since withdrawn its bid. Manchester United remains the only bidder and has a far easier path toward procuring the youngster. His current club Crystal Palace is hoping to keep Zaha for the remainder of the season and UK Publication The Telegraph is reporting that the team is hoping to obtain him on loan from United if he signs with Sir Alex Ferguson's club.

The sale of Zaha will likely hurt Crystal Palace's chances at promotion and will also see its influx of League TV money diminish.  However, Zaha who is rated at 12 million pounds and is one of the most sought after talents in England outside the Premier League. His sale could certainly Crystal Palace with its finances.

In addition to Zaha, Ferguson is widely believed to be in search of a goalkeeper to replace inconsistent David De Gea. He has also been linked with Roberto Lewandowski and Frank Lampard as potential additions this summer.
