Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 owners have had to deal with some long waits when it comes to updates, but the good news is that Verizon seems to have finally released an update it had promised would roll out months ago.
The carrier pushed out an update that finally allows for the Verizon Galaxy S3 to be used on global GSM networks, meaning that users can finally roam around the world and between GSM and CDMA carriers here in the United States.
The Verizon support doc reads:
"Device is enabled for Global Roaming. Now take advantage of voice and data services in over 205 countries worldwide. For additional information and support please visit verizonwireless.com/global."
The update was promised by Verizon to have rolled out shortly after the Galaxy S3 launched back in summer 2012, but as a CNET article describes, Verizon has clearly taken its time in rolling it out.

Major carriers Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular have all rolled out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for their respective Galaxy S3s. The next update is expected to be Android 4.2, sometime in the first half of 2013.
International Galaxy S3 owners also received an important update recently. Samsung released an update that fixes the recently-discovered Exynos exploit and the "sudden death" motherboard issue.
Samsung has also started selling an official bigger battery with 43 percent more capacity. At around $65, it's not a shabby way to extend the Galaxy S3's battery life to around a full day's use.
