Although the Samsung Galaxy S3 is still running hot, tech junkies are already looking forward to next year and the fruits it will bear. Samsung's next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4, has been previously rumored to include a flexible, unbreakable display, but it looks like that rumor won't hold true.

A report by The Verge states that, "flexible screens are still a while off." The information comes to The Verge via an insider source. The Galaxy S4 will still contain a 1080p display, however, that will give viewers an eye-popping 440 pixels per inch.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is also rumored to come with a 13-megapixel camera. Given the quality of the Galaxy S3's zero shutter lag camera, there's little doubt Samsung will please photographers.

The Galaxy S4 could also come with an eight-core processor. A previous report indicated that Samsung might try and utilize two different quad-core processors for more efficiency. This hasn't been confirmed by any means, but if the rumor holds true, the Galaxy S4 could be the first eight-core smartphone on the market.

While Samsung has teased about an International Consumer Electronics Show announcement, there's no chance that the Galaxy S4 will make an appearance in Jan. 2013. Instead, Samsung might choose to hold its own Galaxy S4 launch event, away from even the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February. The Galaxy S3 was revealed in May 2012, and Samsung might opt for a 12-month cycle for its flagship smartphone given the current strong sales of the Galaxy S3.
