Actress Elizabeth Banks is confirmed to be attached to the latest reboot of the all female team of "Charlie's Angels."

The Hollywood Reporter states that Sony Pictures has green-lighted the project in which Banks is set to co-produce and direct the film, while Evan Epiliotopoulos has been hired to write the script.

Epiliotopoulos is best known for his work on the Dwayne Johnson version of "Hercules," which debuted in 2014. Since then, the writer has written screen plays for "The Huntsman: Winter's War" starring Chris Hemsworth, and the Disney live-action version of "Beauty and the Beast."

Currently it is not yet known if the 2000's version of the Angels (Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, and Cameron Diaz) will be returning in any way to the reboot. It is very likely that three new angels will be selected soon.

The original "Charlie's Angels" was a hit television series back in the 1970's, and was the sole reason for the rise to super stardom of Farrah Fawcett.

The story of "Charlie's Angels" has not differed much between iterations. The story revolves around three lady officers who were tired of being pushed around the force because of their gender. Each of the ladies has their own individual strengths and weakness.

The team was put together by a mysterious benefactor named Charlie, who is never seen on screen and only communicates with the team through phone calls, and in the later films through text and chat. Charlie also has a liaison, named Bosley, who acts as a go between with the team.

Bosley was played in the 1970's by David Doyle, and in the first movie by Bill Murray, while the late Bernie Mack played the character in "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle."

According to Screen Crush, the message of this new reboot is something that Banks believes in very deeply. When asked about it, the actress-turned-director stated that the message of the original Angels still echoes very deeply in today's society.

According to Banks, there are still plenty of female officers who are placed in dead end positions in the force just because of their gender.

Currently the film is still in its early stages, and no other names have been attached to the project at this time. However, things are looking on the bright side for "Charlie's Angels."

What do you think of another "Charlie's Angels" reboot? Who would you choose to be one of the Angels? Let us know in the comments below.
