China is home to many popular smartphone brand manufacturers though a lot of them may not be that globally popular since they are technically limited to local soil.

One such brand is Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei, which was chiefly responsible for the popular Google Nexus 6P, which has been making waves recently.

Thought it wasn’t really mentioned, it looks like the company is taking that opportunity for a possible stake at the mobile phone segment, with reports from Android Authority that Honor is set to land on US soil soon.

Apparently, the plans for such have already been brought out in the open by company CEO George Zhao during an event held in Shenzhen, China. Among the Honor models likely to pop up first are the Honor 7 and Honor 6 Plus.

However, mode models are expected to follow. The ones that are region-specific may follow suit.

The Honor 5X is another model rumoured to be coming to the US per 9to5Google though all this may be confirmed by the time CES 2016 kicks in this Jan. 6 over in Las Vegas.

With just a couple of weeks away, all that is left right now is perhaps the formality of Honor’s entry into the US shores and also the list of models that will anchor its entry to the American market.

For now, it may be best to take note of the Huawei device that seems to be making waves right now – the Nexus 6P. While it is now available for purchase, it seems that there is an interesting special edition model that is sadly available only in Japan.

This is the “Special Edition” gold Nexus 6P, which could very well be made available to the ones in the U.S. as well soon.

In the same article from 9to5Google, it seems that Google may be announcing the availability of the “Special Edition” gold version of the Nexus 6P at a press event for Huawei during CES 2016.

Checking on the schedule, the event is set to happen on Jan. 5, 2016, which will be followed by the press conference by Honor.

Right now, it remains to be seen if the move is something that will work to Huawei/Honor’s advantage. Though there is an obvious demand for China phones which are seemingly hard to come by, the Honor handsets do come with decent specs to consider.
