As the Smartwatch wearables revolution continues, HTC may soon be crashing the party with word that the HTC One Smartwatch could be out in 2016.

Word about HTC coming out with a wearable device of their own has been in the rumor mill for years now, and if ever-reliable tipster Evan Blass' (@evleaks) revelation is true, there is a chance that the HTC One Smartwatch could be out as early as February 2016, as per reports from Android Authority.

Seeing that the Mobile World Congress happens in that month (Feb. 22 to Feb. 25), there is a good chance that folks will get to see the first-ever wearable for HTC revealed during the event.

For now, rumored specs are all we can rely on. The device is said to be codenamed Halfbeak, and will feature a circular display toting a 360x360 pixel resolution.

This new set of rumors does rekindle the sagging hopes of seeing a wearable from the end of HTC after it was previously reported by Pocket-lint that HTC has scrapped all plans to compete against the likes of the Moto 360 and the Apple iWatch.

The reason behind the said HTC One wearable scrapping rumors came out in September, citing costs and the lack of demand on the end of the consumer market at the time.

Apparently, the case is now different and HTC seems to want in. As they are aggressively trying to recapture their lost share in the market, betting on the addition of a wearable device could provide them with some needed boost.

However, with Apple, Motorola, Samsung and even LG (with its LG G Watch Urbane) at the forefront of a developing Android wearable niche, HTC can ante up its chances by offering something different from, if not better than, what rival companies have so far given consumers.

All that remains to be seen, plus the fact that there is no word on how serious HTC is as far as investing on the wearable for now. Could it be armed with some health and fitness feature like the recently revealed Moto 360 Sport?

Motorola is the latest to offer some news on their wearable with the Moto Sport 360. The said wearable comes with a built-in GPS, heart-rate monitoring system and a music player. It is a sensible choice for health buffs, although its fashion trend is bound to be equally interesting as well.

Given those specs, would the rumored HTC One Smartwatch have those features (or at least some of them), too?
