The latest iPhone 7 "leak" and rumors have revealed several radical changes to the highly-anticipated device, with some seem shocking but seemingly necessary.

Below is a breakdown of the rumors and the truths behind the iPhone 7. Most of the information is from G For Games, which has mostly relied on Weibo over the years.

No Lightning Port

The new iPhone 7 leak claims that the company is set to place the USB Type-C as the standard amongst its devices, which it has already done with the new MacBook. This could be true since Android phones will likely be shifting to the Type-C next year, ultimately merging smartphone charging.

Wireless Charging

It remains unknown whether Apple has created its own wireless charging or if the company's plans with the iPhone 7's wireless charging is compatible with current standards. According to Forbes, it's highly likely that Apple will offer "similar charge speeds to wired charging."

This comes amid growing rumours that Apple will completely let go of its 3.5mm headphone jack to make room for thinner designs, as reported by USA Today, via Japanese blog Macotakara, (not translated in English).

According to The Inquisitr, this makes sense since Bluetooth technology has become increasingly popular

If these rumors are true, then the iPhone 7 could become...

Thinner

Q13 Fox reported that the 7.1-mm thick iPhone 6 is designed as such since it has been modelled around the size of the jack. By letting go of the jack, it would make sense that a thinner iPhone 7 is in the works.

Glove Touch Detection

Tech Times reported that Apple has submitted a patent application claiming a "Touch ID straight to the display," which goes in line with a report by Patently Apple that company Glove Touch Detection submitted a patent. As such, the iPhone 7 could offer touch-screen technology even with gloves or bandages on.

Multi-Touch 3D Touch

Apple is reportedly using 3D Touch technology which works like "a two finger simultaneous 3D Touch as a back button shortcut or three finger Force Touch to go back to the home screen," noted Forbes.

Dual cameras

Once abandoned for the iPhone 6S, Appple may be ready now to apply the feature with the iPhone 7, especially since the camera of the former device didn't bode well in the market. This will reportedly potentially offer optical zoom as opposed to the current digital zoom.

Price

This is currently unknown, but considering the $649 price tag of the Apple iPhone 6s, the iPhone 7 could be in the same range.

The Truth

It would pay to take a grain of salt with all these iPhone 7 rumors surrounding the internet, but it wouldn't be surprising if Apple offers all features come 2016, especially as according to Forbes, 60% of Apple's revenue comes from iPhones.
