Android 6.0 Marshmallow has hardly covered most Android devices yet and now there is word that Android 6.0.1 M is already out in the open.
Such was revealed by reliable tipster @LlabTooFeR who says that the Android 6.0.1 M update is already rolling out on Android One devices.

Android One devices are usually the ones sold in developing markets by local companies. An example of this is the Cherry Mobile G1, a device made available only in the Philippines.
For those who are unaware, the Cherry Mobile G1 is a budget phone which costs about PHP 6,000 (roughly $133) in the Philippine market according to a report from Tempo Lifesytles.
It teeters among the ranks of simple to use phones that comes with a bit of most features a person would look for nowadays (i.e. call, text, browsing, social media). In the same article, it was mentioned that the Cherry Mobile G1 came with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box but was set for an immediate update.
Chances are, the Android 6.0.1 M was the update in mention despite the fact that most folks are actually looking for the Android 6.0 M as we speak.
Looking over other regions, it looks like the Cherry Mobile G1 is in good company. According to Android Police, other Android One devices like the General Mobile 4G and I-Mobile IQ 2 are also getting the same.
Regardless, hearing about and Android 6.0.1 M push on Android One devices should be welcomed by anyone and anywhere. It is considered a minor update according to Phone Arena, which in most probability will include bug fixes and maybe some security patches.
With Android 6.0.1 M rolling out, such could also signal the imminent coming of Android 6.1 M. Word about its coming is believed to be happening by 2016 though there is no word on when such will start.
But the thing is, an Android 6.1 M update should carry more important features and updates from the celebrated Android 6.0.1 M which will hopefully account for better performing Android devices.
With most major carriers still rolling out the Android 6.0 M in increments, these reports could be good news to somehow spur up an Android OS bump anytime soon. Motorola and Samsung have started pushing the Android 6.0 M so hopefully Google can cover a wider reach soon as folks eagerly await what Android 6.0 M truly brings to their handsets.
