Following news of the iPhone 5's shipping delays decreasing to two to four days, the iPad Mini's shipping time has also improved.
Just in time as the holiday shopping season continues and narrows down, the seven-inch iPad Mini's shipping delays decreased from two weeks to only one week. The one-week shipping time reflects on all iPad Mini models, regardless of GB model and if it's Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi with Cellular.
The news comes as the iPad Mini launches in several countries, including India. The starting price for the iPad Mini in India is Rs 21,900, or roughly $420 when converted to the US dollar.
According to IBN Live, The Rs 21,900 price is for the 1GB Wi-Fi only model while the 32GB model will cost Rs 27,900, and Rs 33,900 for the 64GB model.
The Wi-Fi with Cellular model's 16GB price starts at Rs 29,000, Rs 35,900 for the 32GB model, and Rs 41,900 for the 64GB model.
The prices come as Apple CEO Tim Cook spoke about the iPad Mini's price being inexpensive during an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek.
"A great product doesn't mean an expensive product. It means a fair price. The iPad mini is all the way down to $329. This isn't an expensive product," said Cook. "So when we can do great products and achieve a great price, we feel great."
The Apple CEO noted that his company doesn't focus on launching new products just to put a price tag on it.
"That's not how we think. We think about the product and making a great product that we want to use," Cook added. "When we can do that and achieve another price point, that's great. But our customers have a high expectation, and we're not going to try to pass off something-we would never do that. That's not how we think.
Dec. 7 also is the debut date for the iPad Mini in China.
The iPad Mini is 53 percent lighter and 23 percent thinner than the iPad 3 and features include a 7.9-inch display, five-megapixel iSight camera, and up to 10 hours of battery life.
