Is This the Upcoming HTC One M10? [Release Date, Specs, Features & Rumors]

Recently, reports of an One M10 image leak have made the rounds among techphiles, stirring the curiosity of HTC fans.

"This leak, which comes from an official body, appears to show a mid-range handset that's closer to the HTC One M8 than the M10," Pocket-Lint observed, debunking speculations that the leak was that of the M10. "Design queues clearly come from the HTC One A9, with a similar slim unibody and dual front-facing BoomSound speakers."

"The One X9 should feature a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution for 401ppi," it added. "Powering the handset appears to be a 2.2Ghz octa-core processor, that's not been named, backed by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage plus a microSD slot for expansion."

With the impending release of the One X9, some have wondered whether this means there will be no M10 after all. However, Yibada noted that despite the One X9's release, the One M10 will still be launched, although it is not known when both handsets will be unveiled. Some have predicted that the latter may be released early in 2016, while the X9 may be for the Taiwanese and Chinese markets.

Previously, it was rumored that the One M10 was code named HTC O2, according to Chinese sources.

"The sources say that the HTC O2 will come packing 4GB of RAM and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and be waterproof," Pocket-Lint said in another piece. "Qualcomm has already officially said the 820 will start to appear in devices from late-2015 or early-2016."

"This chip features the latest Adreno 530 GPU for a 40 per cent graphical improvement as well as Qualcomm Spectra camera dual-ISP for 14-bit sensor support," the tech news portal went on. "The display is rumoured to be a hefty 6-inch QHD screen meaning 1440 x 2560 resolution for 490ppi."

The HTC flagship is expected to have an all metal-design and also have a 20MP camera. It is hoped that the upcoming model will have better camera life and a fingerprint scanner, as TechRadar relayed.

"The company is clearly interested in the technology, putting scanners on variants like the HTC One M9 Plus and the HTC One Max, but we want to see one on the HTC One M10," the tech news source noted.
