Bill Nye is a fashion guy? The television host who is known for his knowledge of fun and quirky science experiments, is making his mark in a trendy new way.

The television scientist has created science-themed bow-tie line. Thinking back, Bill Nye was always one to sport a nifty bow-tie with his baby blue lab coat.

So how did this actually happen? Nicholas Graham, the creator and designer of Joe Boxer, carried at Kmart, asked Nye to collaborate on a new bow-tie line.

Getting excited? Well the fun and kinda-nerdy bow tie line is already for sale on Graham's website.

The collection features bowties printed with the abbreviations of the chemical elements, as well as the phrase "science rules" and others with The Planetary Society logo. They come in a variety of colors and patterns as well.

Each bow tie is $49.50 with 10 percent of the proceeds benefitting The Planetary Society, the astronomy and space non-profit run by Bill Nye.

Additional accessories in the line include a book and bow tie set, which comes with Bill Nye's latest book calling today's youth to create a cleaner, more efficient, and happier world. "Unstoppable: Harnessing Science to Change The World" is $75.95 with proceeds also benefitting The Planetary Society.

Fashionista explained Bill Nye was asked to create a fashion line twice before pairing up with Graham. It's obviously due to his dapper style, which he credits to some figures known for their impressively polished looks.

"Humphrey Bogart's characters in his movies, Fred Astaire, James Bond. That's it," Nye revealed. "Whatever they're wearing, I'm in. I will say, when I was coming of age - when I had the money to buy grown-up clothes - I didn't really like the styles. I bought them and wore them, but the baggy [style]... eh. I like it right now, when it's slim. That may change, but I like it."

The 59-year old television personality also revealed his skin care regimen - owing the abscence of crows feet around his eyes to Pond's.

"Anecdotally, just looking at my friends and guys I went to high school with, my skin looks good, and I think it's 'cause I put stuff on my eyes twice every day, once in the morning, once at night. Pond's is an ancient product. My grandmother used Pond's. And so do I," he said.
